It's the highest quality variety within the tuna family. It is captured in the Cantabrian Sea between the months of June to October with the selective fishing gear of hook and line, one by one. It is characterized by its white and tender meat, mild flavor and juicy texture, thus making it the preferred canned fish for the most exquisite palates.
The “Thunnus alalunga", with white meat and having a soft texture, native to the Cantabrian sea, is referred to both as NORTHERN CANTABRIAN WHITE TUNA or simply CANTABRIAN WHITE TUNA. It is the king of preserved fish and within the Albo family it enjoys a splendid representation in its different forms and presentations.
Doctors and nutritionists recommend the consumption of White Tuna because of its high levels in Omega-3, which contributes to reducing cholesterol levels and triglycerides in the blood, lowering the risk of cardiovascular disease.
